- Clarifying if the client meets criteria for a specific diagnosis (e.g., Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Anxiety Disorders, challenges with Executive Function, Mood Disorders) and how this diagnosis impacts their overall functioning.
- Identifying what specific interventions and accommodations should be implemented to improve the client’s functioning.
- Providing parents and caregivers with strategies so they are equipped to aid the client’s development and progress.
The process
- All assessments begin with an intake to gather information about the client’s developmental history, current symptoms, previous interventions and evaluations.
- Next, a testing plan is developed and reviewed with the client. This plan includes a test battery that is selected to match the needs of the client.
- Once a testing plan is agreed upon, the client will be scheduled for 1 – 2 days of testing.
- Once testing is completed, a feedback session is scheduled to review the results and recommendations documented in the report to aid the client’s future success.
