Dr. Shalena Heard
Dr. Shalena Heard is a licensed psychologist in the state of Maryland and certified as a National Health Service Psychologist and Approved Clinical Supervisor. She is a native of Philadelphia, PA and a proud first generation college student. Dr. Heard has extensive experience providing therapy and psychological assessment services to children, adolescents, and adults within inpatient, residential, outpatient, and school settings. She also provides supervision to graduate trainees and mental health professionals. In addition to her therapy and assessment practice, Dr. Heard has been an adjunct faculty member at Loyola University in Maryland, University of Maryland College Park, and Lehigh University in Pennsylvania. She is a founding member of the Multicultural Assessment Community (MAC), which offers continuing education training and networking opportunities for mental health professionals who specialize in clinical assessment. Dr. Heard is also a proud Historically Black College and University (HBCU) graduate in that she attained her Bachelor of Arts in psychology from Spelman College and her master’s in counseling psychology degree from Howard University. She later received her doctorate in Counseling Psychology from Lehigh University.
Dr. Heard is an active member of the American Psychological Association (APA) and Maryland Psychological Association (MPA). Dr. Heard was recently appointed to APA's Advocacy Coordinating Committee (ACC) whose responsibility is to evaluate and prioritize advocacy goals with respect to impact on both the discipline of psychology and the professions of psychologists in scientific, educational, public interest, health service practice and applied practice settings. She also serves on the advisory committee for MPA's Leadership Development Academy which is a 10-month program aimed to cultivate new leaders in the field of psychology.
Beyond her professional experience, Dr. Heard is passionate about social justice advocacy and serving her community. She has spoken at her high school alma mater's career day for several years, and formally and informally mentors undergraduate and graduate students.

Dr. Anjanette Blunt
Psychology Associate (Maryland Registration #A0880)
Dr. Blunt is a retired Federal Government employee with over 35 years of Federal service, including eight years of active military service, to her credit. She was formerly the President and Treasurer of City Shelter Community Nonprofit Housing Corporation, started in 1992 in Detroit, Michigan, by her father, Jayson Blunt. She has attained a B.A. degree in Sociology from the University of New Orleans, an M.A. degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University in St. Louis, MO, as well as an M.S. degree in Psychology and a doctorate in Clinical Psychology, specializing in forensic psychology, from Walden University.
Dr. Blunt was formerly a psychology associate at Expressive Therapy Center in Potomac, MD for over three years and is currently a psychology associate at Purposeful ACTS, LLC servicing the DC metro area. She specializes in group therapy and administering comprehensive clinical assessments for various presenting concerns for clients of all ages. She has experience providing individual therapy, psychoeducation, and additional support and resources for clients, parents, and caregivers. She also provides psychoeducation workshops for various schools and camps. Dr. Blunt works with various clients, including those diagnosed with Attention Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Oppositional Defiant Disorder (ODD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder, Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), anxiety and depressive disorders, eating disorders, and personality disorders.
